João Figueiredo was born in Portugal and has been drawing for as long as he can remember. As a child he filled notebooks with faces — grandparents, footballers, film characters — long before he ever picked up a tattoo machine. That obsession with the human face became the foundation of everything he does today.

He started tattooing over ten years ago, learning the hard way in small local studios before dedicating himself entirely to realism, black & grey, and portrait work. His pieces are known for their soft transitions, deep blacks, and the emotional weight of the subjects — grief, memory, family, faith.

For João, a tattoo is never just an image. Every session begins with a conversation: who is this person, what happened, why now. He treats each client's story as sacred material, and the ink as a way to carry that story on the skin — permanently, honestly, beautifully.

Based in Portugal, he is now beginning to travel for guest spots across Europe. The first five cities on the map are Amsterdam, London, Prague, Berlin and Budapest — and the list is open. If your city isn't there yet, get in touch; new stops are added all the time.

Outside the studio he is a father, a football fan, and a lifelong student of black-and-white photography — an influence that shows in the tonal restraint and cinematic mood of his work.
